Tomato garlic chutney

TOMATO GARLIC CHUTNEY

 This is our newly founded recipe,and also i  got the test certificate passed from my husband......
I'm sure this chutney is good..here is the recipe.


                       

Ingredients:

Tomato              - 2 (medium size)
Large onion       -1(medium size)
Dry red chili      - 4
Garlic pod         -4 ( i take 2 but size is big)
Coconut grated - 3 tbsp
Roasted channa dal
/ pottu kadalai           -1 tbsp
Salt as needed
Hing a pinch
Oil      -1 tsp

Making:
1.Wash and cut tomatoes and onion into small pieces 
2.Take a pan ,pour oil roast the red chilies slightly and keep them aside. In the same pan add chopped tomatoes , onion ,hing powder and garlic pods one by one .(in medium flame for about 6-7 minutes).this step is just for removing  the raw flavor .switch off stove and let it cool for a while.
3.Add the above ingredients,red chilies  and salt to the mixer jar  .Grind them to a fine paste .check the taste and add enough salt.
4. Our chutney is ready .It goes well with dosa and idli ...we tried .

CORIANDER(CILANTRO) LEAF CHUTNEY -Kothamalli chutney

Coriander Leaf Chutney(Cilantro)

                 Chutneys are the popular  side dish made in all over India,   Different types of 

chutneys ....Yes , of course ...Different ways of preparation,but, tastes GOOD in their way

 Coriander Leaves --   very common ingredient in cooking throughout the world

Coriander Leaf has many Health Benefits
  1. Source of dietary fiber
  2. Lowers  bad cholesterol  and increases good cholesterol
  3. Good for Diabetes Patient,Stimulate the insulin secretion,
and lot more.....

My Mom and  Mom-in-law  has lot of  SIMPLE and HEALTHY  recipes in their hand, and 

also our relatives (we have a big Family Tree) all over Tamilnadu.. And Surely they all know 

the Taste  of South.

They are going to help me post all those recipes in this blog.

Here, I'm going to give you ,our  typical Tamilnadu style cilantro leaf chutney,


 



preparation time :10  minutes                    servings       :4


Ingredients:
  1. Coriander Leaves                -     1   bunch   (separate  the leaves and measure about                                                                                    1  1/2 cups    tightly packed)
  2. Dry red  chili    whole      -    3-4  count
  3. Grated coconut                    -    3/4    cup  (loosely packed)
  4. Tamarind                             -   1 pulp
  5. Asafoetida /Hing powder  -    a pinch
  6. Salt to taste
  7. Oil                                         - 1/2 tsp  for  saute dry red chili and  leaves


Making:

  1.  Separate all leaves,  keep tender stems at the top for preparation  and discard the hard stems ,wash leaves in water and keep it aside.
  2. In a pan , pour oil fry chilies  lightly ,take out chili before it burns  keep it aside 
  3. Now in the same pan saute the leaves until reduced ,it only takes 2 minutes , add hing powder to it,switch off stove  and let it cool.
  4. Grind this leaves,coconut,tamarind,red chilies,salt with  little water in mixer  into fine paste  (pour water little by little) 

Now our chutney is ready to serve ,enjoy this chutney with  Idlli ,Dosa,Roti also with rice
